Time For A TAKEBACK

Every year, twice a year, the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) hosts and recognizes National Rx (Prescription Drug) Take Back Day! This biannual event is meant to encourage the public to remove unneeded or expired medications from their homes as an act of preventing medication misuse and opioid addiction within communities.

And that time has rolled around again… it’s time for TAKEBACK! ??

SATURDAY, APRIL 30TH
10AM – 2PM
MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

To assist you with the proper disposal of all unused and expired medications in your home, we have collection sites that you can come and drop them off. For drop off site locations in the Kennesaw area, visit our website event calendar by clicking the link below!

National Rx Take Back Day

Even if you can’t make it out to meet us, you can still do your part by insuring that you are properly disposing of Rx drugs in your home with the use of DisposeRx at-home medication disposal packets! When you mix the powder in these packets with your medication and water, it deactivates the medicine making it safe to throw away in the trash or flush down a drain without contaminating the water supply!

If you would like to obtain packets for you and your family, you can text “MEDS” to 85775!

And, of course, we want to continue to encourage all adults, parents, and caregivers to securely lock away all current medications in the home to remove the access from those they are not intended or to control access as another means of preventing medication misuse and opioid addiction! Additionally, talk to your teen about the harms of medication misuse and the risks of opioid abuse! One conversation can positively influence their decision to refrain from using and misusing drugs!
