The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) have come together to coordinate the National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week® (NDAFW®)!
From March 22nd – 28th 2021, we focus on actively empowering our youth by sharing science-based facts about drugs, alcohol, and addiction. During this week-long observance, we make the effort to educate teens about how drugs and alcohol affect the body in order to support them in making informed decisions about their health, encouraging them to abstain from using drugs and alcohol.
Within our community, you have the opportunity to organize and register your own NDAFW® event! For more information on organizing and registering a NDAFW® event, click the link below!
To participate events already registered, check out the NDAFW® Map to see who is hosting an event in the community.
We also encourage tuning in to the Drugs and Alcohol Chat Day! This live online chat is held between high school students and NIDA scientists, during NDAFW®, giving teens the opportunity to ask any questions they have about drugs, alcohol, and drug use, including the effects of use, how to help friends or family that are abusing drugs, and what causes addiction.
