Let’s REACH & RISE®!

During this time of isolation as a means of practicing safety measures against COVID-19, there has been a tremendous increase in concern for mental health, especially concerning the youth. We, here at CCAPSA, Inc., believe now is an even more necessary and essential time to collaborate with our partnering community agencies for the benefit of our youth and their mental health as a protective factor against substance abuse/misuse. We are happy to promote our partners at the Northwest Family YMCA (and all other YMCA’s in the Metro-Atlanta area) have launched their Reach & Rise® program!

This program matches youth aged 9-17 with fully vetted and trained adult mentors aged 21+ to increase coping skills, improve family and peer relationships, teach decision making skills, and promote healthy living through the mind, body and spirit.  Opportunities are now available for both mentors and mentees! Sessions can be conducted either in person at any Metro-Atlanta YMCA location or virtually once a week for 1-3 hours…and get this… both mentors and mentees each receive a free YMCA membership! As of current, Reach & Rise® has worked with Durham Middle School, Palmer Middle School, Pine Mountain Middle School, the Kennesaw Teen Center, and others in our community! Check out their feature in the Marietta Daily Journal!
